What I Work On

I build software that helps writers spend less time fighting format and more time on the page. Laper is the result of three convictions:

1. Screenplays are inherently collaborative. The best work happens when writers, editors, and directors edit together in real time, not when one person emails drafts back and forth.
2. AI should assist without taking over. AI reads the whole script (or any passage you select) and helps with formatting, continuity, structure review, and optional production references — not a separate assistant that makes creative decisions for you.
3. The editor is the source of truth. Every scene, character, and location should derive from the script itself, not be tracked in parallel spreadsheets.

On Laper's Editorial Voice

Articles I write or edit on this site follow three rules:

1. Reverse honesty in comparisons. If a competitor does something better than Laper, we say so. The job of a comparison page is to help the reader decide, not to win every row.
2. First-hand experience over speculation. When we recommend a software, we have used it on a real project. When we describe a workflow, we have lived it.
3. Updates marked with dates. Software change. Pricing changes. We keep lastReviewed honest and roll back rankings when they no longer hold.
