Use the timeline and project settings

Track approximate runtime, move through the script, and configure project, format, and AI settings.

The timeline is a reading aid

The script timeline follows your cursor and estimates position using the common rule of roughly one screenplay page per minute. It is a read-only navigation and coverage aid, not a video-editing timeline. Zoom changes how much of the script you can inspect; it does not change screenplay length or clip duration.

Use it to notice density, long uninterrupted scenes, and where the current cursor sits in the episode. Confirm actual production runtime through rehearsal and edit decisions rather than treating the estimate as a guarantee.

Project settings have three scopes

Open project settings from the project actions menu:

• Project contains the shared project identity and relevant metadata.
• Format controls screenplay presentation conventions, including Hollywood or Asian output behavior.
• AI shows project-level AI-related settings and usage information exposed by the current product.

These are project settings, not account preferences. Your account language and theme live in global Settings and do not rewrite the shared project.

Use settings before a delivery pass

Before exporting, confirm the title and format, then scan representative scene headings, dialogue blocks, and page breaks. A format switch can change pagination, which also changes the timeline's approximate runtime. Name a history version before a major format or structural pass so you can compare rather than guess.

Avoid stale assumptions

Older projects may contain fields that are no longer shown in the current settings UI. Follow the visible Project, Format, and AI tabs instead of tutorials that mention removed project-type or target-duration controls. The screenplay and its current format remain the authoritative delivery inputs.
